Radek Zemlicka has relocated his Dublin based pottery workshop to Drogheda Street, Balbriggan during the end of last year and he plans the opening of a new shop in late summer 2016.
Radek works with both porcelain and stoneware and supplies, through major wholesale catering supplier, numerous restaurants and cafes in Ireland for which he also makes bespoke orders and commissions. His products are attractive and uniquely designed but hey are also very durable as they are meant for everyday use.
Radek says: ‘as a small boy growing up in the Czech Republic, I used to help my mother in her studio, but the mystery of the potter’s wheel seemed far beyond any boy’s ability. In 1994 I decided to sit behind my mother’s wheel once again and try the art of throwing in earnest. I completely fell for this craft and have spent the past twenty-one years practising as a potter.’
