A FREE Family Business Breakfast Seminar organised by PKF – FPM in association with Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce was held in the Bracken Court Hotel on Tuesday, 20th of February 2018 for members of Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce.
The main speaker at the event was Managing Director of PKF – FPM, Feargal McCormack. He was introduced to Chamber members by the President of Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce – John Cumisky of REA Cumisky – Estate Agents prior to the start of his presentation.
His presentation was titled ‘Love, Affection & Misunderstanding’, it examined how best to follow the best business practice & getting your family business ready to pass on to the next generation. It examined in detail the unique dynamics that exist running in a family business.
He gave a very informative and in-depth presentation on family businesses and working with such businesses over the years and the issues and challenges that can be faced by such businesses. He also went on to outline how important it is to have a clear plan to be followed and an organised structure within them rather than the ad hoc structure that can exist in many of these family-run businesses currently, thus avoiding future issues arising within them.
The event was extremely well attended by Chamber members on the morning and deemed to be a great success.
Below we have included a number of photos taken on the morning of the event.
