We believe that as part of the mix of businesses in the town, smaller, creative enterprises are vital for driving
future re-vitalisation of Balbriggan & our ambition to make Balbriggan known for its creativity & innovation
Balbriggan’s town centre has a long and rich history of industry and enterprise. The town had grown around its famous milling and textile manufacturing industries of the past which were once the lifeblood of Balbriggan. The word ‘Balbriggan’ was made synonymous when it came to the high quality knitted cotton fabric that was used in stockings and hosiery garments.
It is the Chamber’s belief that along with the larger and medium-sized businesses based in and around the town that we should also focus on nurturing;the nimbler and more progressive industries of the future, such as IT, creative media & digital industries which will give a rich mix of businesses as the town expands and grows.
