Balbriggan Chamber Of Commerce held it’s Budget 2018 presentation on Thursday,12th of October from 8 am to 9 am at the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan.Co. Dublin.The attendees were welcomed by Chamber President, Mr John Cumisky, who highlighted the increase in the Stamp Duty on Commercial Property, including land, from 2% to 6% as an issue that needed to be addressed.
The Budget presentation was given by Joseph Wall of Owen Sweetman & Co, Chartered Accountants who are based in Dublin Street, Balbriggan. He went on to outline some of the main announcements made by Paschal Donohoe, TD and Minister for Finance in his Budget 2018 speech to the Dáil which was made last Tuesday, the 10th October 2017.
The summary of the main points from the budget given by Joseph included General Government Budget Spending, proposed changes to USC and PRSI,Income Tax, General Tax and Stamp Duty, Small and Medium Enterprise Measures, the agricultural sector, the housing sector and previously announced measures or where there were no changes in existing measures.
Of particular interest was the Key Employee Engagement Programme ‘’KEEP’’, which is aimed at assisting SMEs to attract and retain key staff.
