On Friday October 21st, members of Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce and Balbriggan Town Council joined the Balbriggan Tidy Towns team to celebrate the 2011 Tidy Towns Endervour Award success by meeting up for a social evening.
There was plenty of banter and chat as the Tidy Towns members reviewed the 2011 activities. They recalled the making and installing of bat boxes and the beautiful tulips and bluebells that popped up all over town in Spring which were planted out in the previous November weather in freezing weather. They also chatted about the 10 extra points they achieved this year in the National competition and how this would from a platform for an even better performance in 2012.
Joe Troy the Tidy Towns Chairperson gave a speech in which he thanked all the volunteers for their incredible dedication throughout the whole year. Cllr Grainne McGuire gave a speech on-behalf of the Town Council in which she reiterated the close working relationship that has been established between the Town Council and the Balbriggan Tidy Towns Team.
