National Tidy Towns Competition
The national Tidy Towns competition is an annual competition organised by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government with the support of the main sponsor SuperValu and many other agencies. The competition involves participating areas being rated on all aspects of their local environment and prizes awarded to the best under many different categories. The overall winner is “Ireland’s Tidiest Town”. which is announced at a national ceremony in September each year.
For the second year running, Balbriggan has entered and a lot of work has been done by the Balbriggan Tidy Towns Association to make sure that areas are weeded, planted and painted and hanging plants placed on all shop fronts. Balbriggan Summerfest
Balbriggan had a fantastic week at the Summerfest this year. Tthe Triathlon was a huge event for the town with over 150 entrants. We also had the Battle of the Bands which showcased the huge up and coming talent we have in the town. Another new event was the Schools Choir Competition. We also had an incredible fireworks display on our beach thanks to Balbriggan Town Council. This was one of the highlights of the festival for the committee. Click here for More.
